Partners

A bunch of amazing local governments and like-minded organisations partner with us each year to help stop useable stuff going to landfill and strengthen community connections.

Their support makes the event free for 330,000 Australians to participate in and enables us to provide you with resources, tips and support.

Show them some love. They, like you, officially rock 🤘🏾

Presenting partner

Plants, pots & pre-loved goods 🌱

We’re thrilled to officially welcome Grow It Local as our Presenting Partner!

Garage Sale Trail is all about keeping quality items in circulation and out of landfill. Now, by joining forces with Australia’s favourite patch-to-plate movement, we’re taking sustainability to a whole new level, from pre-loved treasures to home grown greens.

Together, we’re helping thousands of Australians turn extra seedlings, spare pots, gardening tools, and backyard produce into local treasure. Whether you’re decluttering your garage or propagating your passion, this partnership makes it easier (and greener!) to share, reuse and grow in your own neighbourhood.

State Government Partners

This project is a NSW EPA Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy initiative, funded from the waste levy and supports achievement of the NSW Government's target to reduce illegal dumping across the state.

Garage Sale Trail is proudly supported by the Queensland Government.

Garage Sale Trail in South Australia is proudly supported by Green Industries SA, funding the program state-wide to promote reuse and drive SA’s transition to a circular economy.

Community partners

Just like the 1,300+ Men's Sheds across the country, Garage Sale Trail is all about camaraderie and community. In 2025, Men's Sheds across across the country hosted garage sales selling pre-loved and handmade goods.

In 2026, Neighbourhood Houses & Centres hosted garage sales and open days over the Trail weekends. Many of them even had spaces reserved for locals to sell from too.

Our partnership with the Home Education Association invites home-schoolers nationwide to host sales, learning about sustainability, entrepreneurship and circular economy in their own backyards.
